Fire-Guard™

Thatch & Wood Retardant

Purpose

Accredited thatch fire retardant chemical that helps prevent flame spread on thatch and wood.

Properties

  • Lab‑tested to an "A‑rating", complying with SABS standards and accepted by insurers.
  • Environmentally friendly, non‑toxic, UV‑stable, with waterproofing and weather‑proofing capabilities.
  • Self‑extinguishing, with resistance to fungus, mildew, algae, insects, and birds.
  • Low‑viscosity milky blue fluid that dries clear; Seal‑Bond™ additive can add semi‑gloss and extra waterproofing.

Coverage & Application

Coverage:

  • • 1–4 m²/L on thatch
  • • 2–7 m²/L on other substrates
  • • Soaking rates: 1.5–2 L/m²

Methods:

Brush, roller, spray, or dip soak. Surfaces must be clean and dry; double-sided treatment encouraged.

Thatch Interior Retardant + Dust Suppressor

Purpose

Accredited fire retardant that also suppresses dust, insects, and allergens in thatch interiors.

Key Features

  • Milky white, dries to a clear semi‑gloss finish; includes essential oils for a pleasant scent.
  • Non‑toxic, resists fungus, algae, and prolongs thatch lifespan.
  • Coverage: Approximately 6 m²/L inside thatch.
  • Certification remains valid for 5 years post‑application.

Application

Apply by brush or spray (two coats recommended); clean-up with water and soap.

Furniture & Fabric Retardant

Purpose

Accredited fire‑retardant treatment for furniture, curtains, carpets, upholstery, tents, and fabrics.
